On tap at the World Beer Festival - Richmond on 06/12/2010. Somewhat hazy golden body with a small off-white head. Sweet honey aroma with light hopping. Sweet hoeny flavor with floral and light citrusy hops. Medium full body with moderately high carbonation.

Growler shared by someone how I cannot remember. Poured a clear pale gold with no head. Aroma had spice light, sweet light grain and cereal, some light fruit and not really any honey. Flavor was similar with light fruit, grain, cereal and pine with just a hint of sweet honey.

A hazy blonde ale with a thin lacing white. In aroma, a spiced up wit-like beer with loads of bananas, cloves, cardamon, and incense. In mouth, a smooth yet intense beer with loads of cloves, fruity esters, indian spices, quite nice, medium bodied. On tap at MacGregors, July 31 2010.

draft at 800 Degrees - Pours hazy yellow-gold with a sizable white head. It smells of yeast and honey. The flavor has sweet honey and some hops and what I think of as saison-like malts and dryness. It’s medium bodied and finishes with the aforementioned dryness and some alcohol warmth.

Draft at Churchkey. Bright golden color, thin white head. Aroma of licorice and malt. Odd, acidic, metallic flavor. Would not order again.

Bar Great Harry ($6): Pours a cloudy yellow with a thin white head. Seems at first to be a Belgian Strong Ale from the aroma of banana and spices, such as cloves amongst others. I noticed some Belgian yeast in there as well, but I might have just been thinking of expectations. The taste is quite sweet, probably from the honey with which it was brewed. There were other tastes in this beer that I could not really identify. Overall, it was a very interesting beer. The first braggot I ever had, so I can’t really evaluate it in comparison to other ones.

Sampled on draft at the World Beer Festival Richmond, 6/12/10. Pours a hazy lemon yellow color with a large head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of grainy notes, honey and citrus hops. The taste is honey, grain, citrus and other fruity notes and a leafy hop finish. Nicely balanced, medium bodied and smooth.

Pours pale gold into a shaker. Bright white head with good retention recedes to coat surface. Candi and saaz aromas. Sweet bread and yeast from front to back. Dry, lasting hop finish. Not a mead...more of a Belgian pale.
