A fermenting beer never slumbers. Consequently, there is always scattered activity tending our precious beers throughout the dark hours. In these late nights and wee hours that hallowed responsibility falls to the shoulders of the overnight Brew Crew. These brewing soloists brave the long nights, often alone, to do what needs to be done. Most areas of the brewery are dark or in shadows. Throughout the night the cellars resonate with the occasional knocking of expanding and contracting pipes. It can be a bit spooky to hear the brewery creak and groan as if possessed by a spirit randomly knocking about with a mallet. This IPA, liberally hopped with Loral™, honors our intrepid overnight team by naming it after their mischievous poltergeist companion – the Ghost Hammer.

Golden with little white head. Aroma is pine cone, wheat, a bit lychee, orange, maple syrup. Taste is sweet juicy fruit with a nice bitter hoppy grassy counterpoint. Drinkable. Some grassy rough hops in the finish. Quite some pine cone in the finish again.

Can. Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is super piney, toasted malts, lychee, pancakes, even a touch maple, surprisingly. Taste is piney, toasted malts, grapefruits, pancakes, super resinous finish. Slightly warming. Dares to be Old School, but a bit too sweet.

Stone, normally a good deal. Three bottles acquired in a mixed 12 pack, glad to try it. Drinking from the bottle, that is my deal, move along nothing to see here. Nice nose, citrus and bermuda grass. I take a sip, again nice. Moderately hoppy, lightly bitter, lemon, grapefruit, herbal to a lesser degree. Blessed to try, just middle of the road. The world is not expanded.

Can shared in London - thanks to Fergus. Pours clear gold with a creamy, white head. The nose has some pale malts, semi-ripe citrus, hay. Light-medium sweet flavour with nice citrus fruits, crisp pale malts, mellow bitterness. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with dry pale malts, light rindy bitterness, pine needles. Nice.

Can at LKS, thanks to Fergus. It pours lightly hazy golden with a small white head. The aroma is quite fresh, orangey, tangerine, soft, bright, bready, grass and hay. The taste is crisp, dry, soft, sweet, oily, sugary, brioche, tangerine, clementine, bready, cracker and soap with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Decent enough IPA.
