A fermenting beer never slumbers. Consequently, there is always scattered activity tending our precious beers throughout the dark hours. In these late nights and wee hours that hallowed responsibility falls to the shoulders of the overnight Brew Crew. These brewing soloists brave the long nights, often alone, to do what needs to be done. Most areas of the brewery are dark or in shadows. Throughout the night the cellars resonate with the occasional knocking of expanding and contracting pipes. It can be a bit spooky to hear the brewery creak and groan as if possessed by a spirit randomly knocking about with a mallet. This IPA, liberally hopped with Loral™, honors our intrepid overnight team by naming it after their mischievous poltergeist companion – the Ghost Hammer.

Can 355ml (Beer Republic, canned 18/05/17)
Deep golden colour, decent white head. Piney, resiny aroma. Medium-bodied. Piney, resiny hoppyness, lingering bitter aftertaste. Quite traditional West Coast IPA. Ok even after 5 months.

Thanks to Chris for this can. Great fresh floral beginning. Smooth, mild and intense fresh with a dry fruity aftertaste. Dry white yeast, fresh and round.

Can shared with Erzengel! A clear golden beer with a mid-sized most good lasting white head. Aroma of pine, bitter citrus hops, pale malt. Taste of intense bitter citrus hops, pine, zest, nice!

12 oz can. Pours a bright amber with moderate head. Aromas of dusty oranges, other candied fruit and soapy bready malts. Flavors of tangerines, pine and toasted malts. Bitter pineapple finish. Ok for the sub $2 price but otherwise nothing to write home about. Seems to be about Marketing.

Can, big foamy head, clear pale. Head hides fresh mildly hoppy perfume nose. Tastes like big happy hoppy bitter BS. Terribly on style and then some, such a sharp stringent kick. Who put the soap in the beer, beer beer? So deplorable they should have served this at the deploro-ball. Mouth coating. Nasty Nelliie, Penetrating, all the way to the finish. Also maintains frothy head to the end as well.

12oz can pours with a near clear gold body that supports a thin lasting off white head of foam. The aroma offers up spicy, woody and floral hops as well as a strawberry note. The taste delivers similar notes of bitter spicy and floral hops rolling quickly into a strawberry note and a sense of papaya. Interesting take but the hop profile isn’t working for me as the floral is a bit too forward and not playing well with the strawberry like fruitiness.

From a 355ml can on 27/8/2017. Pours a hazy golden with a small head. The nose is a little odd with metallic and sharp citrus notes. The taste is lots of citrus - tangerine, mandarin, orange and grapefruit. Not very malty, with the bitterness tangerine/grapefruit.Medium bodied, with average carbonation. Unusual and quite distinctive but it just doesn’t float my boat.

355ml can from Stone Berlin. Canned 18/05/17. Pours clear orange with a small head. Aroma of earthy notes, spices, malts, fruits, pine and citrus. Taste is crisp, earthy and slightly spicy with some floral and herbal notes, pine, resin, grass and hay. Finish is sweetish and malty with some earthiness, herbal notes, spices and resin. A bit untypical hop profile for an IPA.
