The regular 500ml bottle, best before Jan 2012, poured into two Veltins badged stemmed tulip glasses during Oct 2011. The review was also taken with a Spaten Munchner Hell (a blind tasting, not knowing until afterwards which was which). Lighter than the Hell and slightly more bitter, it is a typical German Pilsner and has nothing to put it above most of them: it’s clean, crisp and clear just like all the rest. Mr average in every aspect when compared to its rivals.

33cl bottle. Golden colour with white head, persistent and frothy. Aroma is fresh malty with sweet notes. The flavour has notes of hops and malts, with a final moderate bittery, resultanting a good balanced beer. Carbonation is medium, body is medium-high and texture is oily.

Location: Draft at Zeppelin Hall, 4/1/11

Aroma: The aroma is floral and grassy mostly, some spice, it is rather crisp and clean
Appearance: The pour is pretty clear, golden colored, with a white head
Flavor: It has that classic pilsner flavor, crisp and clean hops and malts
Palate: It is fairly light and (I'll say it again) crisp and clean, the drinkability is extremely high
Overall Impression: I'm actually a little surprised that I have never rated this one before, as it is probably my favorite of the pilsners from the big German breweries. It's a great example of a crisp, clean, highly drinkable pilsner. I know I may have been a bit redundant in this review, but it wasn't intentional, it just kind of happened.

Very bright, almost clear yellow body, modest carbonation and huge solid head. Aroma is almost entirely hops, some alcohol. Taste is smooth with a ghostly hoppy aftertaste, easy to drink but there’s not much there. Still if you like your beer to be easy-going, this is okay.

Golden yellow with white head. Aroma of malt and pepper. Somewhat lighter than a typical pilsner. Nice bitter edge and finish, but not much complexity overall.

50cl bottle @ Munchen. Pours clear pale piss yellow with a creamy white foam. Nose is dry, malty and grainy. Hoppy dry and hayish taste. Watery. A Bit rough end but overall quite clean.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a bright yellow-golden color with a large white head. The aroma was crisp floral hops and sweetish tangy malts. The flavor was crisp floral hops with light tart and tangy undertones. The finish was long and floral. Solid.
