Bourbon Barrel Amber Ale

What began with our flagship Boont Amber Ale and a passion for experimentation has become a unique addition to our Anderson Valley Wild Turkey Barl Series. The six month aging process in third-use Wild Turkey Bourbon barrels imparts flavors of coconut and vanilla and subtle bourbon aromas that are enhanced by a noticeable oak character in the finish. A great accompaniment to fine meals or to be enjoyed on its own, Boont Barl is a truly sessionable barrel-aged beer with finesse.

Draft @ beer temple. Tasty beer. Body is the original amber beer of course, the barrel aging adds an extra layer of vanilla and boozy warmth to the beer. The aging is a bit overpowering for the beer though, this needs a stronger beer as basis.

Perfectly aged, expecting this now from Anderson Valley, another masterful presentation. Bourbon barrel adds another dimension to this already fine amber ale. Woody and smoky, smooth and delicious.

Draft at Whole Foods Charlottesville, 5/31/14. Pours a hazy amber color with a medium sized creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of bourbon, wood, raisin, toffee. The taste is toffee, bourbon, wood, vanilla, raisin, nougat, mild hops. Medium bodied, low carbonation, decent balance.

Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours very dark copper with a slight beige head. Aroma is moderate treacle with notes of bourbon/vanilla. Maybe some earthy/fruity hop. Med body or better. Flavor is treacle, earthy hop, bourbon/vanilla. Some oak astringency. Getting a burn on the top of my tongue. Oak can do that? This is sort of BA session beer. Pretty decent.
