5% Served in a weizen glass. This beer pours a cloudy gold with a big fat thick foamy head. It looks good, the last time I had this way back in 2002 or so when I got a set to go when leaving Hakodate it was in cool funky aluminium bottles, this time around it was a regular brown bottle picked up at Kyoto Isetan. A nice soft peppery clove and banana aroma. The beer has a medium body & a smooth mouthfeel. The taste is estery, a bit of sharp cloves, wheaty and light banana bread. Tasty stuff, while not great it is very solid.

Backlog, on tap during my visit to the brewery/restaurant in 2008. Straw colored, clear (no hefe?). Aroma’s: wheat, sour fruit, light hints of spices (clove?). Flavor is almost neutral, slightly fruity. Light bodied. Some malt/grain in the finish. Had better, had worse.

On tap at the brewery, 2007. Light golden yellow Very cloudy. Medium tall, foamy, fine head. Very light color. Aroma: Strong banana, yeast, cloves. Quite fragrant. Very rich wheat malt.Taste: good malt. Banana, spices. Excellent body. Slightly sour, but not overboard at all. Excellent balance—a very good beer. Sweet and sour, yeasty, fruity finish.
