Heerlijk rustig genieten.

On tap at Proeflokaal De Boom, Alkmaar - Hazy gold body, massive rocky head. Nose slightly clove-cum-banana stereotype, but some bready notes there as well. Only downside, gassy as fook. Real burp-maker.

33cl bottle shared. Poured a slightly hazy straw colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is crushed banana, malt, light sweet fruit. The flavour is light acid citrus with a light watery grainy yeasty light bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle from AH to go in the train. Drank straight from the bottle which looks quite nice. Wheat flour and dough, light banana and spicy yeast, bubblegum, some grass and dry plastic notes. Almost medium sweet and light bitter. Medium bodied. Not as bad as I expected.

On tap at Stadsbrouwhuis Leiden. Cloudy pale gold lasting thick head. Banana aroma. Lightly ripe banana in the mouth. Some dryness on the finish. It’s fine. A decent mass production weizen. Had worse. Ok if lacking a bit of character.

On tap at ’Café Hoppe’. Hazy, golden amber with a rather large, foamy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, yeasty-spicy and a little fruity aroma of banana, cloves, some vanilla and a touch of citrus. Sweetish, moderately yeasty-spicy and a little fruity taste of banana, cloves, vanilla and some citrus, followed by a short, slightly bitter, a little sourish and moderately yeasty-spicy finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Decent.

Oerol festival tap. I don’t think you should do this Brand. Backlog from 2014/06/17. Rerated from bottle sept 2016. Big sweet bananna, light caramel, bakabana. Over medium sweet, faint bitter. Medium body, frothy, thick smoothy feel. Sugarated sweet banana finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Brand Weizen on 17 Jun 2014 at 17:24 - Score: 6
