Slank.

Vintage 2017. Clear, ruby-red color with a nice, but quick dissapearing, white head. Sour nose with nice cherry aroma. Taste is decent sour, fruity dark cherries and a well balanced acidic flavor.

375 ml bottle from Meny supermarket poured in to a Flute. Vintage 2021. Deep burgundy with a fast fading light pinkish head. Tart fruity aroma with sour cherries, lemons, wooden notes, light marzipan. Taste is sour. Medium bodied, lively carbonated. Tart fruity finish. Very nice, not as dry and tart as Cantillon Kriek.

Deep dark brown and muddied ruby coloured body with a thick, dense light brown, copper and even ruby coloured head that stays afloat for a long time, perhaps around five minutes or so that leaves a pretty nasty lace on the sides after it does fade. Aroma of very strong and soured tart cherry notes with some light sweetness here, a good dash of of oak and cedar notes for complexity with a lot of spontaneously fermented yeasts and some funky soured notes as well. Medium-bodied; Very soft and sweet cherry notes with a lot of soured notes, some light flower notes and a dry, cherry sweetness, but the tart, and completely soured notes are the strongest with a great fresh fruit/cherry bite that also shows some light citric acid and a bit of the barrel notes coming through at the end that really amps up the complexity here. Aftertaste shows the cherries, spontaneously fermented yeasts which are super complex and rich and leave a bit of breadiness, but the light earthy and rustic qualities of the malts and cherry skins make this nice throughout. Overall, a very nice, incredibly rich and super soured, tart cherry beer that the fruit and yeasts do all the talking in a great way, with some good complexity from the oak and barrels with a lot of funk throughout that makes this an instant classic. Great to finally sample (really, just rate this, and sit down with a bottle, given that I’ve already had it a bunch) this 75 cL capped and corked bottle (like most of Lindeman’s) purchased from Tamura’s Wine & Liqour in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii on 12-April-2022 for US$14,99, bottled on 07-December-2016 when I only had two kids and one was under a year old, sampled in my hotel room here on Spring Break 2022 with my wife and three kids on 15-April-2022, a great deal when the other beers are much more expensive and haven’t been aged for you, for such a long time!
