2016 bottle from Midtown shared at Proper Sake. Pours a clearish ruby with a finger of pink foam that dissipates into a rim around the edge of the glass. Lots of meaty, dark cherry aromas. Some prosciutto and mineral notes as it warms. Very enjoyable on the palate, with dark cherry, leather, mineral and earthy mustiness that comes out. Balanced without the sweetness in the regular Kriek from Lindemans. Dry finish with cherry stone and skin present. --- Beer merged from original tick of Kriek Cuvée René on 30 Mar 2018 at 23:01 - Score: 8

Pretty good Cherry Lambic with Superdry. A lot of the qualities of the fruit disappear because of the dryness.

Rating #1000, thanks to everyone I have met throughout the last 2 years, especially Stefan and Moritz for introducing me into the wonderful world of craft beer after not really drinking beer for 21 years. 2014 Bottle at beermoth. Nose is cherry, Brett, raspberry, red currant. Palate is sour cherry, blackberry, pomgrenade. Very delicious! Could be more jammy Though.

0.75l bottle. Ruby red body with a pink head Aroma and taste of vinegar, lemon juice and zest, a bit mold, wood and sour cherry. I can't really recall a kriek I had where the fruits add to the complexity not mask it, but this is definitely one. Awesome.

Thick, fluffy dark pink head stayed impeccably on an unclear, very finely carbonated, beetroot coloured body. The head stayed all the & really kept it's fluffiness. Dry, earthy aroma with cherry, & root vegetable aromas. Medium bodied, sharp, crisp & prickly over the tongue leaving a cloying aft. Bitter, fruity, sour tastes of citrus, lemon, cherry, & under ripe plum.

0.375 l bottle from 'Dranken Geers', 2014 vintage, bottled in December 2015, cellared for one-and-a-half years. Clear, deep ruby with a thin, fluffy, slowly diminishing, purple white head. Slightly sweetish, moderately sourish, intensely fruity, slightly funky and a bit dusty aroma of lots of sour cherries, oak, bitter almond and some leather. Minimally sweet, quite sour, rather fruity and slightly funky taste of sour cherries, lemon juice, oak and some bitter almond, followed by a long, very tart, woody-dry finish. Thin to medium body, fairly astringent and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. The acidity is a bit too high, not that well-balanced and also not overly quaffable, other than that a decent Kriek. Wouldn't try it again though.

Thanks Okawa for sharing the 2014 bottle! Poured into a taster showing hazy deep cherry red with a finger of cherry tanned foam. The nose shows pronounced notes of soft brett and bing cherries. The palate is medium bodied and well carbonated. Strong flavours of cherry throughout with cherry pie on the mid palate. Balanced tartness.
