The full, rich character of this stout comes from the roasted malt and fresh roasted coffee beans. It is a lightly sweet and creamy beer with an elegant finish.
Een smaakvolle stout met hints van chocolade, waar het geroosterde mout en vers gebrande koffiebonen de intense smaak bepalen.

Bottle at home, black beer, small head. Aroma is malt, roasted, coffee, spices? Taste is the same, somewhat sweet and bitter, not bad.

Tasting bij mij thuis. Soepele stout met lichte vleug barley zoetheid (of dat is de nasmaak van de vorige, kan ook). Maar lekker iig. Bottle @ home. Dark brown to black colour with a medium sized beige head that doesn’t last very long. Smells roasty, red fruits, slightly sour. Tastes roasty, sourish, some chocolate, hint of mint. Medium body, soft carbo. Kinda weird, not bad but also not how I prefer my stouts to be.

Bottle from a Dutch supermarket, thanks to Craftmember. One of these ’virtuous’ beers with double names from this brewery. Thick, dense, pale yellowish beige head retaining very well, colour very dark reddish chestnut brown, blackish in overall appearance but transparent on the edges. Pleasant, typical stout aroma of bitter chocolate nibs, coffee grounds, burnt toast, beef stock, bayleaf, subtle hints of salmiac, wet leather, iron shavings (but feeling ’natural’ here), dried banana, vanilla and cigar ashes. Despite being characterized as a dry stout, it kicks off with a dense, almost candied, yet restrained sweetness, a bit liquorice-like, along with raisins, baked banana and candied dates, but drying as the liquid travels over the tongue, with a slick, oily, caramelly, nutty and deeply toasted malt body with soft carbonation, turning roasted in the end with a lovely, profoundly ’fondant chocolate’-like bittersweetness further bittered with late but quite assertive, spicy, leafy hops in the end and a dash of warming, but non-disturbing alcohol. I love a good stout and this surely is one, makes me curious about the rest of this brewery’s range.
