A black beer brewed with roasted barley malt and challenger hops. Then freshly ground Arabica coffee beans, blended especially for Dark Star, are added to the copper for a few minutes after the boil to provide a rich and complementary coffee aroma. NOT EVERYONE’S CUP OF TEA!

A deep dark stout with a thick collapsing brown head. In aroma very pleasant resinous coffee grind, espresso, musty and complex. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with herbaceous character, light bitter chocolate, a bit thin but still solid after 4 years. Bottle from LCBO.

Bottle by Cuso. Aroma strong roasted, coffee, dark fruits. Clear very dark colour. Taste got loads of roasted flavours going on, there is coffee and also slightly burnt/ash. Light chocolate. Rather thin bodied, lacks a bit of malty backbone. After all quite drinkable, but strong flavours.

Bottle at home in London - sourced from an online retailer. Pours deep brown with a frothy beige head that quickly settles into a film. The aroma holds charred malts, burnt coffee grounds, hints of cocoa and earth. Light to medium sweet flavor with a bit of damp tobacco, mild espresso, some burnt toast, light bitter earth, burnt wood, ash. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with more ashy roast, scorched earth and relaxed coffee character. Fine overall
