Het bier is vernoemd naar de voormalige Jacobskerk (beschermheilige Jacobus). Jopen heeft deze kerk in gebruik genomen als brouwerij, grand café en restaurant en omgedoopt tot Jopenkerk Haarlem.

Tap (Stu Mostów, Wrocław). Ciemno-bursztynowe z niewielką, beżową pianą. Owocowe z przyjemna acz delikatną chmielową goryczką, lekkie w odbiorze nawet nieco płaskie, pije się z przyjemnością.

Bottle from Pivoteka Zagreb. Amber-reddish body with an off white head. Dried red fruit & red fruit jam in the aroma. Nice sweetish taste, rye bread more than jam there, low hoppiness and bitterness. Nice enough really, but not a world beater.

0.33l bottle. Malty and hopy aroma, grainy notes, light citrus fruit notes and resin. Hazy amber color, thick white head. Malty and hopy taste, grains, citrus fruit notes, medium bitter. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation and malty and hopy bitter finish. Good.

(Bottle) Hazy amber brown with good white head. Nice aroma - refreshing pine with citrus hints. Good body - medium with smooth and bright carbonation. Great taste - there's nice hops from fruity start to bitter finish, overlaid on good complex malts with some rich fruity notes. Very good.

Flesje gekregen van Tomhendriksen en gedronken met Bart. Oranje kleurig bier met matig schuim. Aroma en smaak is zeer hoppig. Nasmaak is bitter.

Nice hop aroma with ripe fruit notes. Hazy light brown with a small off-white head. Medium sweetness and bitterness, bitter aftertaste. A bit thin body.
