It’s said that this beer was to compete with Hoegaarden, but it’s nowhere near. Taste isn’t the worst, but is just not gettin’ there. Color and smell are bad. Palate not great either.

With a strange but enjoyable dinner at the Bern restaurant on the corner of Nieuwmarkt, Amsterdam. Cloudy gold beer, little white head. Semi dry palate. Citrussy orange, wheaty malt. Traces of bubblegum and banana and a little coriander. Semi dry finish. Very serviceable wit.

Draught in de Wildeman, Amsterdam on 20th March 2010. Hazy straw-coloured with lacing but dying head. Very fruity with strawberry notes, some lemon and a touch of orange squash in a finish that is both sweet and citric. Caramel malt undertone. Pleasant refreshing weißbier, sweetness balanced.

Bottle: Hazy, golden, no head to speak of; cloves and nutmeg in the sourish-wheaty nose; almost medium bodied, a bit sticky, light to moderate sweet-sourish flavour; short lemony-sourish finish with yeast and cloves. Not very pleasant.........

(Draught at Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam, 4 Aug 2009) Cloudy yellow colour with frothy, white head. Sourish wheaty nose with citrus and dried fruit. Fruity taste with notes of wheat, citrus, tropical fruit and a slight sourness. Thin body, balanced sweetness. Kind of strange and not very nice.
