Nice fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head, slightly hazy. Aroma is slightly dry sour-ish floral, weeds, wet hay, flowers, minerals, light malts, bark, paper, moss, grass, grapes. Taste is slightly dry floral, weeds, wet hay, minerals, yeast, bark, flowers, old wash cloth, paper, moss, leafs. Medium bitterness, slightly harsh floral mouthfeel. Fair enough.

750ml bottle. corked and caged. Opens with a loud, healthy pop. Earthy, light on the palate. Has some mild off tones, maybe that came with age. Not really that great of an offering. Some high temp, not so graceful yeast tones. More drinkable, sessionable than most US variations, but not that impressive of a flavor profile. Mild lemon lime, grain, basement. Drinkable, but not that impressive.

23/08/2017 - 33 cl bottle @ B&B Le Vieux Marronnier, Foy-Notre-Dame. Orange colour with nice white head. Malts, some yeast, spices, some caramel. Decent but not outspoken.

Bottle @ Home. Pours hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma of malt, yeast, hay, flowers, citrus, lime, a little soapy. Flavor is light sweet, malt, yeasty, hay, flowers, citrus. Medium body, highly overcarbonated. 020717

Sous une chaleur caniculaire, je me faisais une joie de déguster une saison. Petite déception cependant avec cette 1858 de la brasserie Du Bocq qui présente une structure imparfaite (notamment une acidité dommageable) ainsi qu’une seconde partie de dégustation baissant d’intensité moins intéressante. En verre nous sommes sur un blond clair (EBC de 8) surmonté d’une mousse blanche et crémeuse d’1,5 cm d’épaisseur. Le nez est frais et fleuri, sur les fruits (pêche notamment) avec une pointe de coriandre et d’acidité. L’attaque est la partie la plus intéressante de la dégustation, très fruité avec de la pomme, pêche, poire, ainsi que du miel, de la coriandre et du citron. L’équilibre est relativement bon à ce stade, mais l’acidité y est malheureusement déjà présente. Acidité qui se développe ensuite en déséquilibrant cette saison notamment sur la deuxième bouche qui présente des arômes d’agrumes, de pêche et plus en retrait de coriandre. L’arrière bouche est quant à elle sur un duo amertume/acidité avec des notes d’agrumes et de coriandre. La troisième bouche se simplifie, devient plus suave, sur le fruit (pomme, poire et pêche), avant un final qui perd en arôme, sur une amertume un peu plus marquée (restant toutefois limitée avec un EBU de 28) mais des arômes plus discrets de coriandre et un brin herbacés. A noter également une astringence présente en fin de bouche peu appréciable. En bref, Bière imparfaite bien que restant agréable, mais de toute façon, par grosse chaleur, vous ne faites pas la fine bouche!

Lemon, lime, pear nose, slight funk. Hazy yellow, thin head, good lace. Lemon, coriander, more funk than on the nose. Subtle malt finish. Light body, easy carbonation.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of lemons, straw, hops, and fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of fruits, straw, malt, and hops, leading to bitter finsih.

Bottled on May 15, 2017.Very cloudy to murky lemon yellow color, OK white head. Lemon, sweet, sugary scent. Low bitterness. Sweet, lemon like taste. Stuffy aftertaste. Medium light body.

Bottle, 0.75l, shared with my colleagues. Pours hazy straw color with large soapy white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of wheat, citrus, yeast and herbs. Taste starts light sweet grainy, follows herbal, citric, peppery and slightly medicinal, mouthfeel is crisp and dry, while finish is medium bitter. Light to medium body, thin texture and lively carbonation in palate. Mehhh, lacks some character...
