Dark brown. No head. A bit of lambic in aroma. Tropical fruits, berries and canned pineapple in taste. Not much malt in taste. Long and warming aftertaste. More an old ale or barley wine than an imperial stout.

33 cl. bottle split with Kraddel, courtesy of Kraddel. Bottled on 28/01/2013. Very dark, blackish pomegranate with almost no head, little sign of carb. Nose is mouldy, huge concentration of sugar, caramel, biscuit, incredibly sweet with some barrel with herbal tea in huge amounts,… Huge extremely sweet caramel, sugar, honey, intense sweet wood vanilla, lots of vanilla, taste is a bit disappointing but taste is incredible sweet syrup, pure vanilla, sweet tea with lots of sugar, sap, maple, pure good,… Very thick, almost boozy, little carb. Very impressive sweet goodness even if it is by no definition an RIS in any way & I am not even sure if the flavor profile is fully intentional but never the less the aftertaste on this one is divine even if this one is prob. not entirely intentional.

25th July 2013
Almost clear deep red - amber beer. Small cream coloured head. Smooth and slightly soft palate with light fine carbonation. This is one of those beers that are barrel aged to within an inch of it’s life! Smooth sweet malt, sweet vanilla, dry wood. Tangy bourbon with a touch of dark fruits. The malt base is somewhat subsumed. Sweeter bourbon before the smooth finish. Touch of spice. So very BA, so very drinkable!

330 ml bottle. Clear amber body with a small, dense beige head. Aroma has moderate roasted malt, caramel, dry fruit, oak and warming alcohol. Flavor is sweet and bitter with less malt flavor than expected, sweet dry fruit/marmalade and lots of oak and alcohol. Nice body with a long lasting sweet alcoholic and oak aftertaste. Plenty of aroma and flavor here, not unpleasant at all, but the total here ads up a bit to boozy and oaky for the fine balance that could have been here. Not bad, but not perfect.

Bottle at home - last of the night, from the De Molen shop, 02/1o/13. Pours light black/dark mahogony brown with a thin tan swirl for a head. Nose is dark fruits, booze drencged oak, brown sugars, dark toffee fudge, bourbon notes, dark berry fruits, cocoa. Taste comprises light oaky bourbon notes, tangy dark fruit, tobacco, muscavado sugars, dark toffee notes. Full bodied, fine carbonation, sweet but not overly so in the finish. Nice impy, good balance not too boozey or sweet and the mouthfeel is pitched well - good work!

Bottle, 33cl. A clear looking dark brown beer, next to black, and topped by a small, beige head. The aroma has a funky twist, with roasted malts, coffee and some berries, molasses and sourness. It’s full-bodied and lightly warming, with a soft carbonation. Soy sauce, caramel, roasted matls, molasses and a funky touch in the flavor. Lasting finish. I like it, but I’m not impressed. It sort of doesn’t impress, even though there’s quite a few nice things going on. 130928

Bottle 330ml @ Geokkjer
Pours clear dark amber brown with a few bubbles. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, oak, alcohol and dried fruits. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a long warm, roasted and chocolate finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
