A 'schwarzwälder kirsch' collaboration with Brussels Beer Project. Schwarzwälder Kirschtörte is the famous German cake with chocolate and cherry, hence the name :)

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is fairly heavy cocoa with brown malt, chocolate, caramel, nuts, touch of liquorice, and syrupy notes. Flavour is sweet with a moderate bitterness. Body is medium and annoyingly overcarbonated. Can't say I'm impressed with this one, it's a bit shoddy coming from De Molen.

BO 11/08/17, BB 11/08/22; Slightly restrained on the nose, notes of ripe cherries, hints of fermenting cherry skin, light sweetness of dark sugars & caramel, toasted bread & bread crust, hints of wood, lightly sweet chocolate, not much of cacao nibs

Bottle. Almost black. Chocolate, ash and a hint of licorice in the aroma and flavor. Malty sweet, caramelly flavor. Perhaps a bit overcarbonated.

It is my understanding that Cher & Choco is no longer in production. That makes my acquisition of a 330 ml bottle in Aalborg, Denmark all the more fortunate. The label says the beer was put up on 8/11/17. I have a tall bar glass to pour into and determine a pure black body with a here-and-gone wisp of light brown head. The nose is enticing, sweet fruit and chocolate. And the payoff, a drink. Wow, rather good. A strong dose of cocoa, red cherries, malt, bread. I’m picking up the alcohol, not an issue with me. Firmly bitter. Very much a winner.

A nice black forest Imperial stout, although I thought the cherries could have been a bit more forward. Very drinkable though and nice chocolate notes, not too sweet either.
