Bottle care of Colin. It pours clear amber with a small beige head. The nose is tangy, white wine, gooseberry, grape, wood, dried fruit, raisin, brown sugarcane earth. The taste is tangy, wood, gooseberry, white currant, herbal, caramel, vinous, bruised fruit, green apple and more wood. Medium-full body and low carbonation. Odd. More barley wine than gose. OK.

Original beer. Has the fresh spicey sourness of a gose, but also the ripe fruit taste of a barley wine. The barrel aging gives it a nice warm vanilla glow. Special brew.

Bottle at Eet & Bierlokaal De Molen; bottled 15 Apr 2013
Clear amber color with medium sized head. The aroma is balanced and complex; there is wood, malt, light Bourbon, vanilla ice cream, rum, some alcohol, hints of fresh tobacco and mint. Good body strength; the light residual sweetness and light acidity keep the alcohol feeling under control; malt flavor, with a woody finish, and soft tannins in the end.
Peculiar, not very cohesive, but interesting.

Bottled 330ml, tnx bierkoning!
Hazy amber color, small beige head. Strong toffee "barley wine" aroma. Full-bodied. Sweet and sour. Toffee, alcohol, oak wood. Gose tartness in the aftertaste. Pervert combination. Somehow it sort of works ...

Bottled. Hazy deep golden/amber colour with a small head. Aroma is big time alcohol, some glue, fruits and ripe fruits along with some slight herbal notes. Flavour is tart wood, some wood, alcohol, mild glue as well as some mild bitterness. Rather much a messy brew...

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours clear amber with an off-white head. Aromas are seriously good - big fruit nose. Plums and apples. Some sherry and sour notes. Taste is sweet, following through well from the nose, light tangy finish. Beer of the night for me.
