0.33 l bottle from ’De Bierkoning’, best before November 2016. Clear, dark amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, tan head. Sweetish, smoky-malty aroma of smoked ham, campfire, caramel and some nuts. Sweetish, smoky-malty taste of campfire, caramel, some honey and nuts, followed by short, slightly bitter and faintly smoky finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, average carbonation. Highly drinkable, not overly smoky but with a pleasant, smooth malt character. Would have liked even more smoke, but this is good nevertheless.

Bottle. Courtersy Fonefan. Frothy off-white good mostly lasting head. Dark yellow colour. Heavy malty and light hoppy very bacon smoked aroma. Light bitter not pleasent bacon-smoke flavor. Average light bitter finish. Oily palate.

Brown body, with a medium, creamy, beige head.
Aroma of bacon, smoked wood, caramel, dark berries.
Taste follows this pretty much.
Medium, a bit oily mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation.
Finishes smokey, sweet, malty.
Nice one. A straight Rauchbier in the Bamberg tradition. Good balance between the smoke and the sweet malts. Drinks quite easy.

Bottle from my Secret Santa. Very nice smoked ham aroma, intense. Clear brown colour. Taste is nicely balanced, moderate caramelly sweetness balances the moderate to highly intense smoked flavours, smoked ham, slightly woody. Excellent. Thanks Santa!

330ml bottle at Vienna RB Meeting shared by Gurthnar, many thanks. BB 08/2016. quite redish hazy color, small white head. smells heavy smoked, bacon, milky, spices. medium body, nice soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes smoky, bacon, spices, light hops, herbs, some dark fruits, plums. finishes with bacon, spices and light fruits. nice one, finishes actually rather light. Overall I like it.
