Pitch black pour, thick, with no visible carbonation and a dense head. Smells of barrell, whiskey and bourbon, a hint of caramel and something acrid, like blue cheese. Tastes of barrell, scotch and bourbon, which is a bit surprising for me, since I never tasted a blend like this. There is a sweet component to it, nicely balanced by a sour taste like dark cherries, but with a little funkiness too. There is also a veeery subtle taste of vanilla. A bit boozy, but I think that might be the barrels. Thick texture, not too oily but still enough to make this a bit hard to drink.

Bottle. Pours black with almost a ruby hue and a thin brown head that starts and remains at the edges. Aroma has notes of bitter dark grains and tobacco with some dark fruits, oak and a good amount of booze. Flavor is full of dark grains supported by tobacco, dark fruits, coffee, oak and a bit of dark fruits.

Lots of wood and booze in the aroma. Certainly some bourbon and maybe some cognac too. Thick and oily. Has a dry woody taste and lots of dried fruits, sherry, and whiskey.

330ml bottle at Brauwerk Tasting shared by me. Bottled 03/2015. BB 03/2040. black color, small coffee-colored head. smells wood, liqueur, alcohol, grapes, a bit glueish, berries, some oak. nice smell. full body, soft carbonation, full / oily mouthfeel. tastes of grapes, very alcoholic, strong wood, strong oak, glueish, some roast, very strong notes of molasses. finishes with strong alcohol and oak. not of fan of this one. we split the bottle through 4 people and i could not finish this. horribly alcoholic. if you have this one, put it in your storage for 2 years, hopefully it gets better. nice smell but taste is NOT good.

A black beer, a head is small and light brown. Aroma has roastiness of coffee, dried and dark fruits, raisins, some liquirice, barrel, alcohol and vanilla. Taste has riped fruits, barrel, distilled alcohols, roastiness. Nicely warming. Almost full bodied, low carbonation. The notes of barrel have quite strong but not too dominating. Imperial Stout meets the riped fruits inside the barrel.
