Bottle at home. Aroma is wood, booze, sweet dark fruits, cherries, port, dark roasted malt, vanilla, bourbon, vinous, dark chocolate. Flavour is sweet. Body is full, a bit sticky. Great barrel flavours in this one, complex and strong. Love the dark chocolate in the finish. Great BA Impie Stout from De Molen!

(Bottle) Dark brown colour, almost black, with brief beige head. Malty, roasted, vinous nose with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, soy sauce, liquorice, raisins, vanilla and vinous hints of alcohol. Malty, roasted taste with dark chocolate, sweet espresso, liquorice, soy sauce, vanilla, coconut, raisins in rum, port wine and a vinous finish with a balanced roasty bitterness. Full body, quite sweet. Rich and tasty, hardly for the faint hearted, but solid and powerful. Great beer!

Bottle. Deep dark brown color, opague. Vinous aroma, confit cherry, chocolate and peppermint in the aroma. Malty sweet alcoholic flavor. Vinous. Confit cherry, peppermint, caramel, roast, hints of chocolate. Vanilla and a bit hidden bourbon. Oak. Quite complex. A real old school De Molen, I love this one!

Small light brown slightly bubbly-creamy mediumlasting head, deep dark pour. Aroma is slightly dry sour-ish boozy, oak, dark malts, booze, minerals, dusty licorice, fruit stones, bark, dried dark fruits, sour grass, dark sugar, burnt toast, soil, cocoa, hints of butterscotch. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish mineraly, weeds, oak, sour grass, minerals, bark, booze, dark malts, fruit stones, soil, salty licorice, berry skin, sour dark fruits, dark sugar, cocoa, rope, hints of butterscotch. Medium bitterness, slightly dry and harsh sour-ish boozy mouthfeel. Nice enough.

33cl Bottle, traded with bierkoning, cheers Edo! Black colour, thin beige head. Aroma of bourbon, raisins, roasted malts, hint of smoke, oak, dark fruits. Flavour is sweet, oak, bourbon, wood, raisins, roast, chocolate, light fruity, bitter finish. Full bodied.

Bottle - nearly still black pour - nose is bourbon, oak, brown sugar, smoke - slick mouthfeel, low carbonation - starts tannic and dry, with hints of bakers chocolate - complex oak through the middle - some smoke and coffee arrive late - finishes with some brighter red wine notes, but also some hefty alcohol heat - overall it's quite good, but perhaps a bit rough around the edges.

Bottled 27-03-2015. Sour, not sure if intended, but definitely works! Sour, wood, boozy, lightly peaty, thick, rich, mellow, creamy and complex, but all in great balance. Absolutely delicious. My 150th distinct De Molen, and a good pick for that!

33 cl fles op Ik Hou Van Nederlands Bier dag. Zeer donker van kleur, bijna zwart, met een kleine beige kraag, zonder al te veel retentie. Aroma's van donker fruit, wijn, caramel, hout, umami, iets whisk(e)y/bourbon. Retronasaal is er ook veel wijn en fruit, hout, zoetigheid. Zoete smaak, maar niet te zoet door de wijn en het hout. Vrij weinig koolzuur, maar het prikt toch zeker nog wel. Behoorlijk dik. Lange nasmaak met veel hout en wijn. Erg lekker.
