Bottle. Black oily pour, small brownish head. Strong rich aroma of bourbon booze, vanilla and oak. Taste of strong vanilla, bourbon, cherry, oak, chocolate and a little coffeebitter. Thick oily mouthfeel. Long evolving finish. Absolutely fantastic.

Bottle at home, 15th May 2015. Pours rich and dark, slight head. Aroma is liquorice, damp barrel wood, wine cork. Taste is liquorice, oak barrel, dark chocolate, sour cherry, cocoa. Really complex and interesting. Great De Molen impy

Keg at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Black, small beige head. Coconut and vanilla dominate the nose. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel, low carbonation. Oily with vanilla and coffee, madeira and milk chocolate. Warming finish. Potent, yet edgesless. Sweet, but not sticky. De Molen masters the art of Imperial Stouts.

Draught @ Monks Wallingatan. Pours black with a small ring of mocha foam on top. Smell is malty and slightly fruity with roasted malts, caramel, toffee, vanilla fudge, sweetened coffee, dark chocolate, raisins, prunes, dates, charred wood and bourbon. Taste is sweet, bitter, malty and slightly fruity with roasted malts, caramel, toffee, vanilla fudge, charred wood, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, raisins in rum, plums in brandy, toasted coconut, dill and bourbon alcohol. Mouthfeel is soft, flat, round, slightly boozy and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, caramel, vanilla fudge, charred wood, raisins in rum, moist soil, bitter chocolate and bourbon. With no carbonation it almost turns into a sweet desert wine. Heavy BA presence... Quite enjoyable but would have liked some bubbles to improve the mouthfeel and nose even more.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus, Joes and Ansjelaah. Opaque pitch black color, average sized off-white head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts, roast, some alcohol, cherry peel. Taste malts, roast, liquor, bitter. Medium to full body, medium carbonation. Oh yeah, good one!
