Neck Oil

330 ml can. Pours a hazy hay/gold color with moderate head. Aromas of sweaty tropical fruit. melons, and malted wheat. Smooth, but muted flavors of ,same with additional candied lemon and pithy grapefruit. Dominant hops.

Draught at the Lamb, Lamb conduit street. A truly delicious session IPA. It had a strong carbonation but not overly done. A tingly citrus flavour but again not overpowering. Very delicate and refreshing. --------- Keg at the brewery. Absolutely superb sweetie aroma. Much lighter, if existing carbonation this time compared to before, much preferred the lamb conduit pint. It had more fizz, tasted more like a session IPA than a saison (which the brewery did) and a better appearance (less cloudy) -------- Can at the brewery. Back to the goodness of the first try!! -------- Can at home. Confirm all, getting strong lemon and pineapple. A little watery. --------- Can at the brewery. Came across quite light this time. Still an amazing refreshing beer. 4.5 to 4 --------- Can at home from the brewery. Neck Oil must be one of the worlds most unpredictable beers or maybe, better put, one of the most situation specific beers. This time it felt quite patheticly light, grassy. Once i got into it, it was very tasty but still, just a bit too much hop without proper backing. I've had some mind blowingly good Neck Oils over the past year but this was not. 4 to 3.9. -------------------- Can at home from somewhere. This beer can be so damn refreshing. The grass element is a little too strong for me again but if is incredibly tasty and the perfect post week drink. 3.9 to 4.2. ------------------ Can in a park in Lund after buying it two days before. 4.2 to 4.3. Palate is godly. What the doctor orders when the weather is nice ------------------ Keg at the Shaklewell Arms, Dalston, London. 4.3 to 3.9. Just felt a bit samey as everyone else this time. Cleaner than most but meh. (9/2/19) -------- Keg at Broken, Åre. Sad how this beer had gone down. Perhaps it was the travel as the two times I've had beavertown in sweden it has dissapointed. This time it was still sweet and tasty but extremely watery. 3.9 to 3.3. ----- Keg at The Woolpack, London. Felt all a bit too much this time in the grassy Hop department. 3.3 to 3.4.

Can shared at the Aug. 2016 Monticello Dairy Bottle Share, 8/1/16. Hazy orange-yellow, large foamy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of herbal hops, pine sol, pale malt. The taste is muddled grapefruit, pine, pale malt. Thin, low carbonation.

On tap in London . Fresh lemon, smooth and fruity. Not too intense, hints of grain, easy to drink. Hints of lemon and fresh fruit. Nice but watery.

Tap at BNO in Sassari-Italy. Pale yellow color, frothy white cap. Nose: resinous, some garlic and grapefruit. Mouth: very watery start, some onion/garlic aftertaste, really sessional and quite empty. Just solid. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at the Hand & Spear, Weybridge. 28/08/16. Nil aroma. Light gold. Good healthy head. Light in both bitterness. Carbonation. Dry finish. As it says on the can, for sessions.

On tap at Defectors Weld. Pours a lively straw colour with a little lingering head. Not a particularly enticing aroma, with a hint of stale hops. Flavour is good though. Delicate pine and grass. Not sure I could do a huge session on it, but certainly slips down smoothly.

330ml can from Favourite Beers. Hazy pale yellow colour with a one-two finger white head. Aroma is citrussy, orange peel, mango, grapefruit, lemon, floral. The taste is exactly the same, the hop bitterness is fairly low. Crisp, refreshing, light. Quite sessionable, although at £3 a can... yeah, I have seen it cheaper online though.

Draft at Ship and Mitre. Clear yellowish-white color with a brighter white head and decently strong lacing. Bit of a lemon dish soap thing going on here. Too much carbonation. Finishes dry. Not my favorite.
