Pours a clear dark amber with a thin white head. Aroma of malts and some caramel. Taste is sugary, far too sugary for my taste. Another disappointing macro bock.

Picked up in Arnhem at a 6-aisle grocery store calling itself the “Jumbo.” Dark copper color with a thin, frothy head. Strong candy-like, toffee aroma with dank undertones. Taste is sweet and mildly cloying. No bitterness at the finish, which is sugary, with the hops being MIA. Medium-bodied, smooth, mild carbonation. No craftsmanship here, but a half bottle does go down easy enough though.

300ml bottle [as Gerijpte Herfstbok]. Clear, auburn colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Weak, sweet-ish, dark malty aroma, hints of malt lozenge. Taste is sweet-ish and slightly dry, dark malty, hints of malt lozenge, a touch of rock sugar. Watery texture, slightly dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Simple and monotonous - so-so.

30cl bottle from AH Jodenbreestraat supermarket in Amsterdam. F: medium, tan, average retention. C: brown, coppery hue against the light, clear. A: malty, mellow fruity, caramel, cherries. T: medium malty base, light roasted tones, chocolate touch, caramel, herbal touch, mellow fruity, soft to medium carbonation, definitely on the sweet side yet still no such disaster, commercial for the style.
