Our Grapefruit Sculpin is the latest take on our signature IPA. Some may say there are few ways to improve Sculpin’s unique flavor, but the tart freshness of grapefruit perfectly complements our IPA’s citrusy hop character. Grapefruit’s a winter fruit, but this easy-drinking ale tastes like summer.

Bottle [from trade with Slaktmasken, thanks Niklas!] @ home. Clear orange color, medium sized white head. Aroma is malts and oh yes, loads of hops, grapefruit, resinous hops and some pine. Taste malts, again loads of hops, bitter, grapefruit, slightly resinous and a hint of pine. Medium to full body, medium carbonation. Yup, I like it!

Nice. Stinky hop nose, catty, resinous, with grapefruit (obviously). Flavor very juicy with grapefruit, clean toasty malts. Bright clear golden color, foamy head. Medium bitter finish, long lingering grapefruity bitterness. This is rich yet drinkable, with a lot going on.

Can 355ml @ Hotel room, Fairfield Inn, Flushing, NY
Pours slightly hazy deep golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, lots of red grapefruit and citrus. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long grapefruit, pine and citrus finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Very nice IPA but I prefer the regular sculpin to this.

Can. It pours an almost clear body, golden in color and with a small, dense, off-white head. The aroma is very grapefruity, piney and candy-ish, in a really, really nice way. Some maltyness in the far back. The flavor continues in the same way, adding a lovely grapefruity and hoppy bitterness. It’s full-bodied soft on the palate, rather dry, with a lasting grapefruit finish. Wow, this is lovely indeed. Really, really wonderful, but I suspect the drinkability is higher with the regular Sculpin. 150606

Tap. Aroma is strong, full of hop freshness and also grapefruit citric compounds.Taste is actually al lo jucier than I thought, this grapefruit does not only contribute into enhancing hop bitterness but also to the beer’s body. Real good stuff, enjoyed this one a lot. Fresh, beautiful, fulfilling.
