Our Grapefruit Sculpin is the latest take on our signature IPA. Some may say there are few ways to improve Sculpin’s unique flavor, but the tart freshness of grapefruit perfectly complements our IPA’s citrusy hop character. Grapefruit’s a winter fruit, but this easy-drinking ale tastes like summer.

Clear, golden colour, quite a lot of head which remains for a while. Aroma is very hoppy, west coast hops shine through with a very pine centered, spicy and citrus-fruity smell. Grapefruit is very noticeable, but spiciness is also intense. Palate is slightly strange, citrus fruitiness is almost artificial. Refreshing though. Flavour is of a very hoppy and intense IPA. Very fruity, grapefruit/citrus fruitiness is heavy, more Intense than in the aroma. Also quite spicy/herbal but more in the background. Finishes long and very dry, with the earthiness of the hops also showing a bit. Very nice IPA! Especially the finish.

From a 355ml bottle on 15/10/2016, Pours a clear lightish golden with a medium head. The nose is light tropical and citrus and grapefruit. The taste features sweet citrus and tropical fruit, with heaps of melon note, followed by a big, firm grapefruit bitterness. Medium bodied with average carbonation. This really is quite different to the standard Sculpin, but still very tasty. It does have a fresh, zesty, summery feel to it, Impressive.

Bottle at home. Has a slightly hazy orange colour with an off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, orange peel, sweet candy, grass and dry hay. Very fruity. Fruity is also the flavour with a little more grassy hops along with lots of grapefruit, orange peel and some pine. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body bitterness. A very fruity and nice IPA. A bit one-dimensional but quite fresh.
