Grand Cru is a speciality beer carefully crafted. This extra-blond amber nectar masterpiece undergoes refermentation in the bottle, resulting in a beer endowed with unforgettable character. The secret lies in the unique combination of the most noble hops and the finest aromatic ingredients. Grand Cru differs from other beers in the range by its absence of spices. Its full, white head is light and frothy, and when poured it creates a subtle lace effect. The very pale colour of Grand Cru lends clarity and brilliance to its body. Grand Cru’s delicate nose is a veritable cascade of hoppy aromas with hints of fruitiness coupled with subtlety and sheer richness. When savoured, the first sip is light and intriguing. The next impression is one of a slight bitterness full of captivating nuances. When it hits the palate, Grand Cru creates a lingering moment of hoppiness, rounded off by an intense yet pleasant bitterness.

Bottle courtesy of tkrjukoff. Pours tiny hazy pale golden with a rather small frothy white head that leaves some spotty trace on the glass while dissiapting. Smell is yeasty and tiny oxidized with crackers, biscuits, pear skins, dry soil, hay, pepper corns, cardboard and lemon zest. Taste is tiny bitter, tiny estery and slightly phenolic with white bread, crackers, pear skins, lemon zest, hay, dry soil, green apples, pepper corns and dry wood. Mouthfeel is champagne-like, dry and medium bodied. Finish is tiny bitter, tiny estery and phenolic with crackers, white bread, hay, dry soil, cardboard and lemon zest. should have had this sooner. One of the newer Saint-Feuilliens, with a stable, yellowish white head and hazy yellow blonde colour. Grainy aroma, dried fruits, green apple, sweat, white pepper, cava, bread, vanilla; dry fruity taste, grainy and bitterish, strong, almost champagne-like carbonation, sweetish residual white candi sugar and floral hops in the finish. Fairly elegant but not too outspoken, like the rest of the range.

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a clear straw colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is big yeast, light malt, light hop. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet with a rich, malt, yeast alcoholic bitter palate and lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with lively carbonation.

Flaske 330 fra Vinmonopolet, Tromsø Langnes. Lys gyldenbrun. Uklar. Høyt luftig skum som varer og etterlater litt lacing. Aroma av krydder & frukt. Smaken det samme. Avslutningen er tørr frukt.

Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Aroma of yeasty fruits. Med body. Flavor is yeast, touch of fruity ester, non-NW style hop. It’s well balanced, sweet notes and hop bitter all at once. No alcohol issues. Quite tasty. Refined even.

Most Feuillien beers have the nice aspect that they have a dry bitterness, instead of the sweetness most Belgians have. This one has that as well, nice strong blond beer, with a dry fruity touch.
