Description
Brasserie St-Feuillien was founded by Stéphanie Friart. At the time, she ran the brewery from premises situated at the entrance to the town of Le Roeulx. in 1910 Stéphanie Friart sold the business to her nephew, Benoît Friart, who in 1920 also bought another brewery in the town centre. Production was transferred to these more modern buildings, which are still home to most of the production facilities today. After the Second World War, his youngest son, also named Benoît, took over the business. Between 1986-1998 the old buildings were renovated. And from1993 to 1998 all the buildings built in the 19th century were renovated. Spaces were converted into new fermentation and storage rooms, and the equipment was continuously modernised. In 2006, start of construction work to extend the brewery’s production site, which continued until 2008. Extension works continued, increasing the fermentation and storage capacity, installing a keg filling line and building a state-of-the-art brewing hall. In 2013, Brasserie St-Feuillien officially opened its new facilities and celebrated 140 years since its founding. With its fifth generation now at the helm, the Friart family continues to brew a wide range of beers demonstrating a determination to stay rooted in the region’s history and keep this local tradition very much alive.
