Brewed in honor of the 1000th batch at our original Clybourn brewpub. A liquid as dark and dense as a black hole with thick foam the color of a bourbon barrel. The nose is an intense mix of charred oak, chocolate, vanilla, caramel and smoke. One sip has more flavor than your average case of beer.

Admin Note: Released in bottles at two different ABVs: 14.2% and 14.9%

27 February 2026. BCBS Tasting @ Stacks (Sint-Kruis). Cheers to Ward for hosting the event! Many thanks to Louis for generously sharing the bottles!

Cloudy black, no head. Intense bourbon, medicine, tobacco, espresso, teriyaki, black olive, pecan, liqueur-filled pralines, vanilla bean, oak. Sweet date, raisin & prune wrapped in a dark-chocolatey, pecan-nutty and dark fudge-like malt body with subtle umami teriyaki, some smoke and bitter coffee. Peppery hops in the finish, lingering bitter coffee, fondant, oaky vanilla and warming bourbon alcohol. Full body, thin, oily texture, soft carbonation. Has evidently aged (thinned by alcohol; umami, somewhat medicinal flavours) but this has only added layers of complexity to an already rounded base beer. Excellent!

Imagine walking into a bar and finding 2013 BCBS 🤯 The carbonation is gone, but the flavor has matured wonderfully.

Surprisingly similar to a fresh 2024 vintage. Slightly more earthy notes especially in the aroma, hints of syrup and licorice. Has aged surprisingly well

Bottle, 355 ml, courtesy of Eric. Shared with him and others. Nice chocolate and bourbon, cocoa, easy drinkable. Smooth. Somewhat thinned down, but holding up great for 11 years.

Bit dry but mad bourbon, slightly sweet, smoooooth, milk chocolate, no boozy on this 14.9%. chocolate burps. 5 years ago I didn't know a god damn thing. Still don't.
