0.5l can from eurospar at salzburg hbf. pours a cloudy honey yello with a steady head. aroma of banana, bubblegum, vanilla. flavour of white bread, banana, cloves, all correct, but kind of too light and boring.

0,5 l can. Pours yellow with big frothy white head. Aroma is yeast with mild aroma of banana, vanilla, clove, also some sulfur in the nose. Taste is light sweet and some low bitterness. Body is very light, texture thin, carbonation average. Finish is short, mild bitter. Basically all that good hefe should be is there, but it’s just too mellow and watery.

Can, 0.5l. Cloudy golden pour with medium sized, frothy white head. Poor retention. Smell is fruity and yeasty. Light to body, regular carbonation. Texture is watery but smooth on the tongue. Classic hefe taste and aroma, although watered down - sweet with sour notes. Malts, yeast, wheat, cloves, banana. Nothing outstanding here. Price considered, it’s decent.

0.5l can. Hazy orange body, white head. Aroma of bread, banana, cloves, medicinal hops and some acidic lemon juice. Taste of bread, lemon juice, banana and some peach. A bit flat and thin bodied. Not the best example of the style but OK.

Pours hazy, dirty orange from the can. The crown soon subsides to whispy lacing. Aroma is light bubblegum and banana, but overall remains a little more subdued than usual for the style. Still, this one was served a touch too cold so I will cut it some slack. Taste trends sweet with undertones of green tea bitterness. Overall light and with some troubling watery notes. Decent but not something I would buy again.

50cl can from Spar, Vienna Airport. Pours hazy golden with a fair, white head. Fruity, yeasty and wheaty aroma with notes of bananas and hints of cloves. Moderate sweet with mild flavours and a light acidity. Fairly refreshing, but not impressive. Fair enough.

Super pale and hazy golden coloured body with a thick, two centimetre tall pure white head. Aroma of grass, corn, light cardboard, unfinished sugars, wort and way more corn - pungent. Light-bodied; Strong assertive canned corn flavour with a bit of cardboard, light sugar and the slightest hint of coriander seed and wheat. Aftertaste shows the grass, corn and light wheat but not much else - fairly bland, but easy to drink. Overall, not the worst wheat in the world, and the colour is nice for sure, but not much in terms of taste and flavour, especially with complexity. Still, ridiculously cheap and not a bad option if you want something cheap, much better than the Pittinger Marzen or Radler! I sampled this 50 cL can purchased from Spar [Gourmet] in the centre of Wien, Austria a few hours ago on 22-March-2016 for €0,59 sampled in my apartment hotel here in Wien, Austria on 22-March-2016.
