12 ounce bottle. Pours a light yellow gold color with a small creamy white head. Aroma is sweet malt with notes of lemon verbena and sage. The flavor is more lemon with notes of thyme and rosemary. Malty sweet with some spicy hop bitterness.

12 oz bottle poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Clear light golden yellow with a finger of off-white head. Aromas of herbs, spice, light citrus and funk. Tastes of herbs including rosemary and thyme, spice, light funk, some citrus fruit and peel. Medium body with a dry finish. Tasty herbaceous saison.

This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a clear golden yellow color with an ample amount of small carbonated bubbles that were seen rising. A one finger white foamy head formed and dissipated within a minute.
The smell definitely had the sage up front and did allow a nice sweet refreshing fruitiness to combine and invade. Light lemon surrounds.
The taste was sweet and herbal combined nicely. There was a light herbal aftertaste that led to a slight refreshing finish.
On the palate, this one sat a light on the body with a decent sessionable quality about it. The carbonation finishes smooth and refreshing.
Overall, I say this was a good saison I’d have again.

0.355l bottle from Whole Foods Market - Tribeca. My first beer in NYC, and my god I need a beer now! In my plastic cup, this one pours a lovely looking blurry peach-golden body with a small but lacing white head. Smells really inviting and fresh with lots of surprising spices. Is it nutmeg, thyme and cardamom? Really unexpected but quite nice. Also some grape zest, hints of hay and dandelions? Really different on the nose, and really nice! Oh, it's spicy in the taste also alright! It has a lovely oily mouthfeel with a gentle but present carbonation level. I get dried orange zest, hay, lots of herbal tea and saison yeast. Light dry mouth in the aftertaste, and there is also a hint of alcohol. Really fruity with nectarine, peaches, apricots, some mild lemonic sourness and a little bit of orange zest. A lovely nose. Tastes superb also. Wittiash kinda wheat sweet. It's mild oily on the texture and just about average on the carbonation. Lots of nice zesty flavors her. It's getting zest, spices, grapefruit zest. It has mid ripe strawberries and wheat. Definitely an interesting one that I’m not sure if it works or not, maybe my palate isn’t ready for something that tastes like the stuffing in a Thanksgiving day turkey combined with the yeast of a fruity saison.

Had this back in December 2012, bottle from Asahiya. Here’s what my notes say: A nice clear golden beer with a good head of foam & nice lacing. The first sip is very floral with a bitter bite. The herbs definitely come through with sage & thyme being noticeable. This beer grows on you.
