Pours light gold from the bottle. Hazy, with a thin frothy white head. Mild pineapple aroma, floral, rubbery. Taste is dry, bitter, but with undertones both sweet and yeasty. The bitterness keeps the upper hand going into the finish. Body is medium with higher than average carbonation for the style. A carbonation that somewhat disrupts the flavors and, combined with the noticeable hints of alcohol, gives the brew an oddly unrefreshing feel. Drinkable, but flawed.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an almost clear yellow with a small, white head. Nose has some subtle floral notes + even subtler yeast. Rich, filling body, malty sweetness, fruit with subtle yeast accents but pleasantly low on phenols. Some late warming alcohol. For a boring style this is pretty solidly crafted. 040517

0.33 l bottle from local ’toom’, bottled in June 2016. Clear, golden yellow with a large, foamy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, perfumy, fruity and yeasty-spicy aroma of peach, lemon peel, banana, clove and light dough. Slightly bitter, yeasty-spicy, moderately fruity taste of banana, cloves, Belgian candy, peach and some lemon peel, followed by a medium long, dry-bitter, yeasty-spicy finish. Medium body, quite effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Quite tasty actually, classic Belgian flavours, the lively carbonation fits into it well. Remarkable to see this Belgian-style beer from a German brewer that is now distributed so widely.
