An intense brew first enjoyed by the British aristocracy during the Industrial Revolution. Already on the nose, you can feel the drink's thick core of lightly caramelized malts, which is refreshed by the resinous pine buds and the spooky wild rosemary. The tongue literally gets stuck in the maltiness, only to be rescued by the bitterness of the hops, all of which lingers into sticky warmth.

Small white head. Deep brown body, slightly hazy. Intense fruity raspberry aroma with woody notes. Powerful, spicy cinnamon and raspberry taste with lime and wood notes. Full-bodied. Sharpish, powdery mouthfeel. Dry alcoholic cinnamon and raspberry aftertaste with lime and dandelion notes. Very nice. Strong, powerful flavour, yet balanced, harmonic and drinkable. A beer at 11.4% has no right to be this drinkable. (0.5l bottle, from wine monopoly, Strømmen Storsenter. Based on 8-10 bottles, all told.)
