On tap at Makro Beer Fest in Ljubljana. Pours pitch black colour, topped with a medium sized beige head. Extremelly strong woody nose with smokiness coming through, some bacon feeling as well. Slightly sweet start, again very woody and smoky, lasting all the way into long aftertaste. Alcohol level is superbly hidden, slight warming feeling and that's it. Would be superb (for me) only if the woody character was taken down a notch or few - as it is, quite hard to drink.

Bottle shared in London - cheers to Kenneth. Pours deep brown with a small, foamy tan head. The nose holds booze, peat, toasted brown bread, toffee. Medium sweet flavour with a bit of rubber, more toast, scorched earth, alcohol, dried leathery berries. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warming finish, more peat, moderate roast, dry cocoa. Good stuff.

Bodney Bier Huis bottleshare. Semi opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, little dark chocolate. Peaty spice, not overwhelming. Soft peaty fruits. Smooth semi dry finish. Peaty spicy linger. Good for a peat job.
