Bottle via Germany. Bottled April 2011. A dark brown pour, quite light for what you would expect from the style, with a small quickly dissipating beige head. Aroma is very malty, and bready, with quite a bit of dark fruit, some wood, and also quite earthy. The mouthfeel is pleasant, and the carb is quite nice. The finish is sweet, and quite malty. A distinct sweet, sherry finish, with some earthy grasses. Almost all the hops are gone, this reminds me of an aged english style barley wine. Fresh im assuming this resembled a porter, but now, its taken quite a turn. Still a very pleasant beer, just not a porter at this point.

Huge thanks to Erzengel for sharing! Looks really good. Dusty-malty aroma, some coffee notes. Starts intense malty, roasty, some woody notes, some coffee. Alcoholic-malty finish. Could be more balanced. Still interesting!

Sampled from 0.66 l bottle, bottledin April 2011. Clear, very dark reddish amber to black with an off-white head. Sweetish-malty, slightly woody aroma of caramel, chocolate, coffee, some red berries and some wood. Quite sweet, malty, gently roasty, slightly woody-fruity taste of dark chocolate, coffee, caramel, raspberry, cherry and some wood, followed by a medium long, moderately roasty-bitter, gently woody-dry finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Pretty nice, held up very well wirh very light oxidation flavours. Thanks to Erzengel and Beerhunter111 for sharing this one!

Insgesamt in Ordnung. 10/9/10/9/8/9

660ml bottle. Clear, darker brown colour with average, firm, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, tan head. Dark malty aroma has notes of roast, coffee, grainy coffee surrogate, a touch of hay, molasses. Soft oily palate, sticky, low carbonation, full bodied; taste is intensely dark malty, sweet, sirupy, dry wooden overtones; sticky, somewhat collapsing finish has dry wooden and leather notes. Successful collaboration between Pott’s and Harpoon.
