Crooked Stave Tasting Night; hazy mahogany red pour thin tan head, aroma has dark cherries, some figs, taste has a Demerara sugar, some dark cherries, a hint of chocolate, some vinous action, very tart but nice.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear dark ruby color with a small white head. A big fresh fruity cherry oak nose. The flavor is oak, more sweet cherries, sour lactic notes, sharp at times, sawdust. Quite nice. Lively palate. Quite sour, more than some of the traditional Flemish red/browns.

Bottled 11/2014 Batch 4 - Pours dark reddish brown with a small bubbly head. Aroma of berries, tartness, some funky yeast, sourness, oak and wood. Taste is woody, oaky and heavy with berries and mild sourness. Finish is sweetish, woody, oaky and funky with loads of berries, some sourness, oak, wood and vinous notes. Interesting, quite heavy on berries and sweetness.
Bottled 11/2014 Batch 4 - Pours dark reddish brown with a small bubbly head. Aroma of berries, tartness, some funky yeast, sourness, oak and wood. Taste is woody, oaky and heavy with berries and mild sourness. Finish is sweetish, woody, oaky and funky with loads of berries, some sourness, oak, wood and vinous notes. Tap@CBC 2015, Red Session - pours amber with off white head. Sour fruity aroma and taste, acidic, grapes, light vinegar, berry fruits, funky, light floral and grassy, tart on the palate, dry tart finish.

Dark copper, brownish body, with a small, sparkling, dissipating, beige head.
Delicious aroma of oak, vanilla, sweet and sour berries, apples, funk, subtle vinegar.
Taste is fresh, sour, dry, tart, with oak, barnyard, sour berries, sour and sweet apples, wine, ripe fruits, some vanilla, subtle leather.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a soft carbonaton.
Finishes smooth, medium sour, quite dry, also a bit sweet, fruity, wooden, slightly leathery.
Tasty! Very fresh, with a quite strong, but well balanced sourness and lovely oak notes. Drinks surprisingly easy. Enjoyed the diverse, complex nose even a bit more though. Overall among the best beers of this style I’ve had so far, really pleasant.

CBC. Dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is malt, yeast, baking yeast, sour fruit, caramel and wood. Flavour is malt, yeast, dark fruits, sour fruits, caramel, little sour and a little acid.
