Nice, slightly hazy pink and violet coloured body with a two to three centimetre tall off-white head that fades relatively fast. Aroma of tart blueberries, brett, sour grapes, yeast and a dose of sugars. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive sour blueberry and cherry flavours up front with a lot of raspberries noticeable along with some yeast, brett and sour grape flavours and even a hint of lemons. Aftertaste shows a very complex and super nuanced beer with the blueberries coming out along with some sour grapes, lemons, yeast, coriander seed, flowers and even a melon or two near the end. Overall, an incredibly complex and multi-layered beer from the aroma to the end, with a nice profile along with a good dose of sweetness and sour flavours throughout, ending with a great blueberry flavour and the brett flavours that make Crooked Stave beers what they are. I sampled this 37,5 cL bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 26-November-2016 for US$8,36 sampled at home in Washington on the Fourth of July, 2017 as the final beer in my red/white/blue sampling for the day, and this, the best, was my ’Blue’ beer.

Dark red color with a fine head. Good lacing. Fine intensity in the aroma. Medium body and an average carbonation level. Decent acidity and a quite dry ending. Lasting flavor. Berries (blue I quess), citric, yeast and lactic flavor. Nice refreshing stuff in the sun.
