Matisse

Can at home in Hackney - picked up at the brewery. Pours mostly clear, bright gold with a fluffy, pure white head. The aroma holds crisp, dry wheat, some grass, straw, sourdough, lemon peel. Light sweet flavour with moderate grassy bitterness, some further rindy citrus, mellow dry yeast expression, pale grains. Light to medium bodied with airy, massaging carbonation. Nicely balanced finish, with clean grass and hay bitterness, some grain husk, mild saison yeast, more dried wheat, lemon rind. Really nice saison. Classic.

Draught at the brewpub. Hazy medium gold with a low head. Lemony nose, some barnyard hay and acid. Malty flavor, spicy yeast, a bit heavy. Decent but not so special.

Poured from can dated 7/21/17 hazy lemon with a thin white head. Aromas of grass soap bubble gum and yeast. Taste is light and crisp, easy to drink.
