Draught at the brewpub. Dark red to brown colored. AROMA- toasted malts, tones of chocolate and caramel. FLAVOR- neutral, slightly bitter, the same as nose. Medium bodied.

From tap at the brewpub - boat. Black color with beige head. Malty aroma, roasted, caramel, licorice, chocolate and coffee notes. Light to moderate sweet and bitter taste. almost medium oily body with soft carbonation.

From tap at the brewpub. Ebony. Dense and persistent brown head and lacing. Excellent aroma and taste of roasted malt, freshly roasted coffee, brittle, dark chocolate and a hint of pine. Medium bitterness is balancing nicely. Good drinkability!

Tap at the brewboat. Almost black, tan head. Lookin' fine! Caramelly, coffeeish dry aroma, okay really. Nice, smooth taste, coffee, light caramel, a bit sweetish but far from what these can be in that aspect. I'm somehow not as thrilled as the others, but it's certainly a very good beer with a great name. Just not in full form when I've had it I guess.

Milde Röstnoten mit deutlicher Bitterkeit. Kaffee, weiche Karbonisierung, vollmundig. Die dunkle Malzigkeit bleibt röstig, süffig, langer und kräftiger Nachhall. Gelungen. 11/10/11/11//11

Tap at the brewery. Assertively roasty but with enough balancing malty caramelly sweetness. Hops just in the background. Good one, tasty and drinkable.
