0,5 l bottle. Pours black with medium, lasting tan head. Aroma of dried fruit and roasted malt, some coffee, caramel and bitter chocolate, butterscotch. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter. Finish is long, dark chocolate, butterscotch and much more present lasting bitterness.

500ml bottle. Black, small tanned head, nice retention. Aroma of roasted malts, creamy toffee fudge, chocolate, hint of coffee, sweetness. Taste has all the above but flavour is toffee and roasted malts in the main. The body is lighter than expected from the aroma and so doesn't have that creaminess on the palate, although not watery. Very enjoyable but just disappointed as the aroma suggested this could be one of the great porters.

Bottle at home – from local ASDA Chocolate and dark fruits in the nose. Pours a very dark reddish brown with an ample beige head. More fruity in the mouth, with some sweetness but also salt. Hints of chocolate and coffee too. Nice smooth texture. Finish is bitter like strong dark chocolate. This is a very good beer all round.

500 ml bottle from ASDA. Dark brown pour with a tight, creamy beige head. Aroma is roasty, lightly sweet and nutty. Taste is more of the roast malts, light brown sugar and a very soft bitterness. Smooth.
