On tap at Crowbar, Oslo. Black with a modest, beige head. Aroma of roasted malt with dark chocolate, vanilla, liqueur, dark fruits and hints of alcohol. Sweet, chocolaty, malty and quite liqueur like, but with a certain bitterness. Tasty and nice, but not quite my cup of tea for some reason.

Draught @ Fermentoren, Aarhus. Pours black with a very small brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, rich dark chocolate, chocolate cake, caramel, cocoa. Flavor is rather sweet, malts, cocoa, dark chocolate, some light dark fruit notes, licorice, cocoa, alcohol. Full body, oily mouthfeel, light sweet finish with some warming alcohol. Feels a little stronger than the 9% ABV listed, but not in a unpleasant way. 240415

On tap at Crowbar, pours black with a small tan head. Nose brings out dark chocolate and roasted malt. Flavour is wonderful, with dark chocolate, wood and roasted malt. Smooth and robust as hell, with a dry finish. Decadent and surprisingly easy to drink for the style. Wonderful stuff.

On tap at Basement Beer Bar. Close to black in the glass, topped by a small light tan head. Oily. The aroma is lovely, with molasses, cocoa, alcohol, roasted malts, dark sugar, rum, some dried fruits and a little bit of alcohol. It’s full bodied, warming and soft on the palate. Cocoa, roasted malts, chocolate and molasses in the flavor. Quite sweet, but with a nice bitterness to deal with it. Lasting sweet and malty finish. Intense, lovely and tasteful. Not a beer to enjoy by the pint. 150401
