The deep ebony colour and a roasty aroma with notes of wood and chocolate in balance with the sweetness from the malt are the crucial points of our Weihenstephaner Stout. Hallertauer Magnum, Hallertauer Mittelfrüh and Delta
hops in combination with a variety of different roasted malts, a top-fermenting ale yeast and our local Freising water as well as the technical skills of our brewers result in a Bavarian Stout of 5.6% with a thick chestnut-coloured
head and a bold finish.

Draught @ William K, kurvi. Dark brown, thin off white head. Roasted malty aroma, bready notes, mild spiciness but quite bready actually. This one served quite warm, good. Spicy flavor, xmasy. Roasted malt, bread. Long sweeter finish. Surprisingly spicy brew. I’d have this for a dunkel in a blindtasting, despite the spiciness.

Tap at Olhus Stockholm, Helsinki. Colour is black with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Berries, some fruits, sweetness, some coffee and hints of roasted malts. Stout? Very weird, uninteresting and thin. Drinkable and clean but not a beer for me.

Draught @ Ølhus Helsinki. Aroma has toffee, mellow roasted notes and hints of licorice. Also metallic vibes. Flavour has toffee, licorice, some odd candy- and syrupy-like aroma and hayish notes. Finishes with brown sugar and metallic tones. Unusual.

(Keg at Kitty’s, 20150103) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had roasted malts, fennel and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, fennel, sweetness, chocolate and bitterness. Aftertaste was roasty, sweet and bitter. A bit weird stout but easily drinkable.
