Pours a big thick head that goes away slowly, and leaves some lacing, good golden colour. The nose is predominantly malt - honey and alcohol, but it feels somehow oily. It’s faint too. It tastes ok actually, it has a good malt profile, but the absence of hops, and the thinness don’t do much to improve the overall taste. Very faint aftertaste. This used to have a tendency to taste extremely metallic in the past, but I guess Daruvarska’s quality control is a lot better these days (read: no diacetyl in Staročeško, no "metal" in Old Bohemian). All in all, it’s a good "session" beer, but far from special. Original review:A pretty standard lager, a bit bland and metallic, but pleasant taste, weak white head, golden colour. 5/3/5/2/10
