In the can. Swedish perry cred thrust. Chugged from my fest #1 Iowa RewFest glass. Pours a very light and clear yellow appearance with little head retention though it did have some carbonation. Aroma is pretty much just Smarties and candy in a good way. Well carbonated. Moderate high sweetness. Flavor full of apple, pear, and candy. Maybe a bit of tropical fruit-like candy. Petes just fine (and is R@@@@ approved!) Nice chug booster.

This here is going to be the most pathetic rating in the history of RateBeer, short of some poor geek sucking the last drops out of some rare whale that he missed out on at the RB Summer Gathering. So on Saturday I take my son to his bestie’s birthday party. They’re 8 now. His friend’s dad is Swedish, has a great affinity for all things Sweden, and has a few local Swedish friends who always come over when they’re having parties and such. They usually have some good food, decent enough beers etc. At one point I see some of them drinking something pale and sparkly in a clear plastic cup and have no idea what it is, I don’t even wonder much or even ask. But later I saw the empty bottle of Rekorderlig Swedish Pear Cider on the counter and plug it into my RB phone app and realized that this is something fairly hard to come by. I’m not even sure how it got there! But its gone, not even a drop in the bottle, though of course I did sniff the bottle. Well I was surely bummed out and my chance to try this. A few hours later, lo and behold, right next to the bottle is a plastic cup, mostly full still, of the perry. Whoever was drinking clearly wasn’t into it and just left it there. Everyone was outside. I was in the kitchen alone. You know what happened next. It was pretty sweet, rounded mouthfeel, straw colored, solventy notes reminiscent of mead, but then pear flavors emerging at the end. It was OK.
