Brown color with medium sized head, short retention. Moderate aroma of roasted malts and chocolate, pleasant. Dry mouthfeel; highly carbonated; medium-to-strong roasted malt flavor, a touch of dark chocolate, a bit earthy and dusty, with a good bitterness level and a trace of yeast.
Tastes more like a top-fermented beer, not as clean as Dunkels, not bad at all.

Bottled, thanks Bov! Dark brown, beige airy head. Aroma of chocolate and rice crispies. Fairly sweet with medium body and clean mouthfeel. Vague orange and milk chocolate flavour. medium bitterness. Some promising flavours are there, but appears a bit shy.

Bottled 500ml. -Trade with Allen (thanks Julian!) Dark brown (almost black) coloured, medium sized pale beige head, slight acidic coffee nose. Mild roasted malty, acidic coffee and some dark fruits with odd sweetish/acidic finish.

0.5l bottle courtesy of and shared with ogivlado who got it in a trade with Allen (thanks both!) Poured an opaque brown body with a small off white head. Malty, slightly acidic odd nose, somewhat roasty and not impressive. The taste is malty, with some very pleasant oddly gluey notes, not all that roasty, slightly acidic and drinkable. Dunno, nice enough, a bit subtle, but not all that dunkel-like. You can do better. I would, however, try it again fresh.

Thanks to Allen for this one. The bottle looks simple, but really good. The beer in the glass more black than dark, small head. Starts malty and roasty, quite smoky for a dunkel, notes of bacon. Finish a bit earthy, roasty. Really nice!

Bottle (Dank an Allen!): Almost clear, deep amber coloured, bigger fluffy off-white head, that slowly collapses; sweetish roast-malty nose with caramelly and chocolatey spots; solid bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied, a bit fizzy; lingering roast-malty and smoky(!) finish, balanced by some sweet caramel and subtle fruits. A swiss goody......

(bottle) Clear, dark brown colour with a beige and loose foamy head. Sweet and roasted malty aroma, slightly ashy with notes of cacao, caramel and leather. Moderately sweet and slightly roast-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a lively carbonation. Roast-malty base with a quite dry, almost Schwarzbier-like character, accompanied by notes of cacao/chocolate; quite dry and bitter-sweet finish with a tinge of chocolate in the aftertaste. A bit fizzy but still very good. 24.XI.09
