first of all: this is definitely not an irish ale!!!! the appearance is ok, the colour is brownish-red, the head is acceptable; regarding the aromas: it has some disturbing, unidentifiable smell; it has some sweetness (in my opinion, just because of the added sugar) and bitter aftertaste, however it’s a bit too watery, if it was a real irish ale it would be far below the average; since it is not an irish ale (just a lager which tries to mimic an ale), it is acceptalbe for its price (but will never be my favourite)

Bottled, from a small kiosk at Podmaniczky Frigyes tér, Budapest. Clear amber, minimal head. Roasty and mid dry with clean, rounded mouthfeel and medium body. A bit fruit and salty with roasty/nutty notes. Slight salty bitterness. A little rough.

plastic bottle 1000ml. -from some small shop in Budapest. Pale amber coloured, small off-white head, the nose; hm for the first time in Szögedi beers I’ve also noticed beet. Malty caramel taste with notes of candy sugar and vegetables. Not too pleasant brew.

And this one makes me the top rater for this brewery. Yaaay, go meeee. As with Braunger, courtesy of and shared with ogivlado who brought it from Budapest (thanks!) Poured a dark amber-red body with a slightly off white head. The nose is beets and cardboard. What fun. Not much taste, light sweetness, beets (perhaps the least obvious in any of their beers other than the Sörlimonade), slightly earthy. Dunno, bearable? Hardly exciting.
