Smells like aged brown sugar. Very strong semi sweet mouth. Not that great.

Amber color; hazy; the pour is quite oily. There is aroma of honey, but it’s also clearly oxidized, Madeira wine comes to mind. The flavor is very sweet, but the mouthfeel is not syrupy; the honey flavor is oxidized, but at least now there is an interesting note of Sherry, with sugar floss, liquor, sweet wood, wallnuts.
Although not fresh anymore, this was undoubtly a pretty good one.

02/03 0.75 l bottle courtesy of Doggythedog, thanks for sharing! It poured darker golden to copper body without real legs. Only a few tiny carbonation spots went out. Honey and alcoholic aroma, wood and walnut are notable. Sweet honey flavor, woody, much lighter than other meads, but nice and pleasant. Slighly oily on palate in its thinner to medium body. Long sweet honey and warming alcohol finish which bites sometimes a bit more. Fine mead, nothing great however.

Well, after finding the first Dutch saké, I find the first Austrian mead on the site, cute. 0.5l corked bottle. This one poured a copper/gold colour, some legs. Quite oily nose, some alcohol at first but not in the long run, sweet and honeyish, notes of carob. Ok honeyish taste, light for a mead, ending with alcohol that’s dry and bitter. Notes of white grapes (not wine(!)) Interesting, not too sweet, and kinda drinkable, but not the tastiest mead there is. Still, I’d have it again!
