This live barrel of NW style sour red ale was initially aged for six months in French oak wine barrels, then additionally aged on elderberries. Sharp wine, dark raisins, red grapes and cereal notes greet you on the nose. Tart dark fruit and grapes on the palate lead to a sparkling crisp dry finish with hints of fresh elderberries and grape skins.

Draft @ Rare Beer Breakfast 2016. Pours a hazy dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity sour tart woody elderberry aroma. Fruit sour tart woody berry flavor. Has a fruity sour tart woody elderberry finish.

Tap@Borefts 2016, Bodegraven - pours reddish amber with off white head. Medium sour fruity aroma and taste, prominent notes of elderberry, jammy dark fruit, slight spice, slight oaky wooden notes to close.

Tap into a snifter showing lightly filtered brown/rust red with no head. The nose shows cherry cough syrup. Not very nice. The palate is highly carbonated and medium bodied. Moderately tart with flavors of red fruit and black forest fruits - plums, cherries, strawberries, and grapes. Followed by a light red wine bitterness on the finish. Spicy tannins throughout but in general without much vinous qualities. Very well done.

At BBF, clear dark burgundy Red color, aroma of berry with a melange of shrubs, fruity flavor with metalic hints, mellow sourness. Nice and easy to drink.

At Borefts 2016. thnx for sharing,everyone ! Pours dark brown, small white head. Smell is sweet, bit sour, bit herbal. Taste is sweet, sour, dry. Elderflower-like herbal tones.
