This NW style sour ale is a strong blond ale aged in chardonnay barrels for up to 12 months, then aged with dried white figs and lemon peel or up to 12 more months. Aromas of sweet figs, golden raisins, and citrus zest are the first to be noticed. Hints of white wine grapes, lemon peel, and sweet figs roll across the palate, leading to a crisp lemon tartness in the finish that leaves a lingering sweetness on the tongue.

Draft pour at the barrel house. Pours a shiny golden color with a lot of head and lace. Sour white grape aroma. Flavor is initially sour with some apple, grape, and some plum. A bit of a white wine feel as well, coming at no suprise. Long, white grape sour finish. Awesome.

750 c&c from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours translucent gold with a slight white head that left rather rapidly. Aroma is sour, and seems lemony. Med + body. Flavor is oaky, citrus, sour and has some semi-sweet fruit that could be fig. Make this tart/sour. Doesn’t get to sweet/tart. :) Quite a tasty sour beer. Finishes oaky/sour, maybe with a hint of grape.

Keg at the Barrel House, PDX, 2013 Vintage 11/11/14. Clear golden with moderate off white spotting and edgework. Nose is musty, straw, citric peel, funk, apple core, pissy tones. Taste comprises tangy citric rind, acidic notes, light vinegar strokes, tarte green berry, funk, sour berry wash, musty wood. Medium bodied, fine carboantion, semi drying close with fruit tang and a semi puckering conclusion. Decent sour.

World Cup Beer. Hazy dark golden with a small white head. Complex aroma with perfumed citrus and floral notes, bright funky character and oak. Sweetish, tart flavour with lots of fruit and funk. Good flavours, but a little bit too acidic
