On tap at Bistro Šalša Zagreb. Darker golden/amber coloured, small white to off-white head, slightly buttery nose. Metallic malty, light butter and caramel, notes of fruits and short sweetish finish. Nothing special here, just average.

On tap at Šalša restaurant, Trešnjevka, Zagreb, Croatia. Clear amber, medium creamy white head. Hoppy, also diacetil, butter-fruit combo, strawberry yogurt, red fruits. Sweet, strawberry yogurt candy, no hops. Flat, medium body, sweet finish. Unfortunately off. All the best and I hope it becomes better.

On tap at Bistro Šalša. Red-amber body with a lasting white head. Tropical fruit initially came out of the aroma, making the whole thing reminiscent of Zmajska’s Pale Ale, which is praise enough, followed with a herbal touch and caramel, and then suddenly everything was smothered in diacetyl, which remained to the end of the glass. The taste, however, is thankfully diacetyl-free, with the intense tropical passionfruit notes piling on top of caramel and a light herbal note, going into a mild bitterness. Really tropical, with a licorice sweetness here and there. Actually very interesting and very much tasty. This has the potential to be one of the top Croatian APAs and has come close enough... just one technical detail out of the way and that’s it! I’m slightly overrating it aroma-wise, just in case.
