The oxymoron of the style name could not fit beer to Rudeen’s taste. His deep mahogany black colour is not only for the looks but also hides a generous amount of chocolaty caramel roastiness. Hops gives it a huge fruity and resiny aroma and taste. It is creamy, refreshing and bitter at the same time. We advise you to close your eyes, smell and then taste this bold beer which marries stout, porter and a big IPA. A perfect balance between hops, mellow roastiness from the malt, creaminess and drinkability is something that we are especially proud of. Be careful! He bites!

(On tap @ Mel's, Vienna, Nov 9/17) Murky dark brown with an pale tan head. Notes of toffee malt, toast, nutty roasted coffee beans, candied orange peels, grapefruit, pine needles, resin, moderately sweet on the tongue to start with a moderate to high bitter finish. Medium bodied, smooth average carbonation. Decent black IPA, nothing that I find excites me though.

Appearance: Very dark brown, clear. Small tan head.
Aroma: Malt, roasted, followed by hops.
Taste: Roasted, some dark malt, buttery, clear crisp bitterness. Very good and typical Black IPA.

Gulating Pub Stavanger 220717. Deep amber color with a tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, licorice. Flavor is roasted malt, coffee, licorice, chocolate, grapefruit. Easy drinkable beer.

Fles thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een donkerbruin haast zwart bier met een dunne lichtbruine schuimkraag. De geur is hoppig en gebrand mout. De smaak is gebrand mout en hop.

On tap at Gulating Pub, Stavanger. Pours black with dense light beige head. Aroma of chocolate, some notes of tropical fruits and pine needles. Tastes bitter with some sweetness. Thin to nedium bodied, dry mouthfeel, bitter finish. A little bit unbalanced for my taste.

Bottle from Pezinská pivná pumpa. Very dark ruby body is hiding under brown creamy head. Aroma is preparing you just enough for the taste, dark chocolate with burnt caramel. Some hints of coffee too. Lovely.
